Guelph man aims ‘long-gun’ at restaurant, turns out to be pool cue

A Guelph man was arrested and charged after a not-so-funny ‘practical joke’ at a downtown restaurant.

Officers were called to the eatery around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday after a man stood outside, and purposely aimed what was believed to be a long-gun at patrons inside.

People panicked and started backing away from the windows, and police were ultimately called to come confront the suspect.

They arrived only to find out that the man was actually holding a pool cue.

Guelph Police say ‘that in no way excused the man’s behavior’.

A 56-year-old has been charged with mischief and will appear in court in December.
