Special weather statement ends for Waterloo Region

Waterloo Region experienced some heavy rain this weekend.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement early Saturday morning, warning that we could see up to 40 mm of rain by Sunday evening.

The national weather authority said a low pressure system moved in from the western United States, and possible thunderstorms and heavy rainfall were expected throughout Sunday.

The special weather statement was also issued for Guelph, Erin, and Southern Wellington County.

Environment Canada ended the special weather statement around 6 p.m. on Sunday.
