Waterloo Regional Police are out with a warning to those in the construction industry after several reports of break and enters to construction sites in the region.
Police say there were 29 reports last month where tools and heavy equipment, including some items valued at $100,000 were taken.
Police are out with a reminder to those in the construction industry to take precautions to protect tools and equipment by putting specific marks on tools that are difficult to remove, keeping an inventory of all serial numbers, and also keeping tools in a secure place that is difficult for a thief to get to.
Police urge any members of the construction industry approached by someone looking to sell tools on site to contact police and to report any suspicious activity around construction site areas.
