The debate is over.
Anthony Dumont-Bouchard has stolen the starting goaltender role for the Kitchener Rangers.
“I’d say he’s earned that title,” said McKee. “We can’t deny how good he’s playing. He played exceptional again. It’s not like we’re not going to play [Luke Richardson], we have a three-in-three coming up, so we’ll figure out how we want to go about that.”
Dumont-Bouchard’s latest win came on Thanksgiving Monday at The Aud. Dumont-Bouchard made 29 saves and the Rangers dropped the nationally ranked Owen Sound Attack 4-1.
The loss was the first for the Attack in regulation, who only trailed the Regina Pats for the top spot in the recent CHL Top-10 Rankings.
The Rangers rebounded from a poor start in Guelph Saturday coming out of the first period with a 1-0 lead after a Greg Meireles power-play goal.
“I hate to say it, but I think our team definitely gave these guys more respect. We learned our lesson and were more prepared,” said McKee.

It was in the third though when the Rangers blew it open. Joseph Garreffa converted just under three minutes into the final frame. Jake Henderson would tip a Logan Stanley point shot home, and Riley Damiani would add one into an empty net.
Dumont-Bouchard was great again earning first star honours. It was his fifth win in as many starts. He now leads the OHL with a Goals Against Average of 1.80.
The team takes off on an Eastern Conference road trip next weekend. They’ll play three games in three days beginning on Friday in Sault Ste. Marie, followed by stops in Saginaw and Flint.
The Rangers are back at home October 20th, when they welcome the London Knights.
