This article is more than 5 years old.
It has been serving meals and music for well over a century, but soon, it may be serving something very different.
After almost a year on the market, The Blue Moon Restaurant will be closing its doors…and will be converted into a church.
Heading into its final week owner Bev Finnegan says they have a number of events planned for the old Restaurant’s farewell tour.
“On the 13th and 14th we have Eric Traplin, he has been playing here since 1982. On the 14th also we have Diane and the Cavaliers, it is a country band.”
Finnegan, who has owned The Blue Moon for the past eleven years, shares what made the restaurant so special.
“It is just a really comforting country restaurant, and there were so many events here. Murder mystery dinners, lots of music. Some musicians got their first gig here.”
The Restaurant will be closing up shop October 14th, with the new owner’s taking possession of the historic building at the end of the month.
On Saturday, The Blue Moon will be hosting its official goodbye party, tickets for that event are already sold out.
