Security guard assaulted at Guelph train station, 23-year-old charged

A Guelph man faces a number of charges including assault and trespassing after an incident at the VIA station on Carden Street.

Guelph Police say a man was spotted behaving badly at the station early Tuesday morning, and was told by police that he was not allowed to return.

He didn’t heed their warning though — as he allegedly returned later that night, and assaulted a security guard.

Police say the guard received minor injuries, but didn’t require any medical attention.

A 23-year-old faces multiple charges and will appear in bail court this afternoon.
