OPP nab over 400 distracted drivers over Labour Day weekend

Provincial police say 444 distracted driving charges were laid during a crackdown over the Labour Day weekend.
They say many motorists appeared to be ignoring warnings not to use cellphones or other hand-held devices while driving.
Police say the numerous weekend distracted driving charges bring 2017’s total number close to the 9,000 mark.
OPP also say 92 people died on roads they patrol between July 1st and August 31st, the highest number of deaths over that two-month summer period since 2010.
