OPP and the Canadian Safe Boating Council are encouraging everyone to also be safe on the water.

Operation Dry Water’s goal is to encourage people to stay off their boats if they’ve been drinking.

In Ontario, no alcohol can be consumed by anyone on board while a boat is out, unless the boat has sleeping areas and bathrooms, and even then, you can only drink when docked.

Alcohol and drug impairment continue to be a factor in boating deaths and injuries on the water.
