Early morning apartment fire in Guelph, no injuries reported

Around 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, the Guelph Fire Department responded to a fire at 40 Northumberland Street near Dublin Street.

Crews were dispatched from five different stations, and found smoke and flames coming from the roof of the apartment building.

In a release, they say, “the fire was quickly brought under control and subsequently extinguished. The top floor of the building was evacuated by firefighting crews and then staged in a city bus.”

No firefighters or residents were injured in the blaze.

An investigation is ongoing, and at this point, there is no definite cause or estimate of damage.
