Dollarama recalling jump ropes over chemical hazard

By News Staff

Dollarama is recalling packages of jump ropes over a chemical hazard.

The jump ropes, sold in packages of two, may contain levels of phthalate that exceeds the allowable limit.

Studies have suggested that certain phthalates could cause reproductive and developmental abnormalities if children suck or chew on soft vinyl products containing the chemical for extended periods.

Approximately 124,890 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between March 2014 and June 29, 2017.

There have been no reports of incidents or injuries related to the product.
