Wet weather expected for Canada Day in Waterloo Region

You’ll want to keep your umbrella handy this Canada Day long weekend.

Geoff Coulson with Environment Canada says some wet weather is on the way, and similiar conditions are expected throughout the GTA for Canada Day.

“On Saturday, it’ll remain somewhat unsettled- as it has been for the past couple of days. There is the chance of some shower activity, especially in the afternoon and into the evening. That shower activity should die down at some point Saturday evening, and it’s looking like Sunday and Monday should be better days – with a mix of sun and cloud and seasonal temperatures.”

Coulson says the temperatures will remain seasonal, with highs of around 25 degrees expected throughout the holiday weekend.

“July is traditionally our warmest month, so even if temperatures are a bit cooler than normal, they’ll still be in the mid 20s. The first few weeks of July we’re seeing temperatures around seasonal values, and we may even see some warmer than usual weather as we head into mid-July.”
