A new American poll suggests that generally Americans like Prime Minister Justin Trudeau — that is those of them who know who he is.

The survey by Public Policy Polling says he’s viewed positively by 31 per cent of Americans and negatively by 20 per cent.

But about half of the respondents have never heard of him.

Trudeau’s net-favourable rating of 11 per cent matched that of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who was better known to respondents.
