The Kitchener Rangers will be helping out at the Tim Horton’s location on King and Bordon in Kitchener from noon until 1 p.m. today for Tim Horton’s annual Camp Day.
The coffee giant’s largest single fundraising campaign helps children in need go to camp.
Communications Manager, Alyscia Warner, says “Camp Day is a day that’s really important to the hockey club because it gives us a chance to give back to those in the community that gives so much to us throughout the entire hockey season.”
“The Kitchener Rangers organization understand how fortunate we are to play a game like hockey, it’s an expensive sport, and there are tons of kids and tons of families who really struggle with that financial element of being able to afford to play the game, or to play whatever sport they love,” Warner says.
One in six children across Canada and the United States live in economically disadvantaged homes. For these children, opportunities and environments that promote their growth into healthy individuals are often limited.
One hundred per cent of the proceeds from all coffee sales and public donations today will go to the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation.
