One person dead after vehicle fire in Guelph

Police say a man is dead after a crash that caused a vehicle fire in Guelph.

Guelph Police say a dump truck was heading westbound on Laird Road just before 3 p.m. on Tuesday, heading eastbound was a passenger van. The vehicles collided at the intersection of Laird Road and Kirkby Court.

A video sent to our newsroom shows at least three vehicles on fire.

During the crash, the dump truck left the road and veered into a parking lot where it hit four parked vehicles.

The fire was put out just before 4:30 p.m.

Police say they continue to investigate and are working to determine what happened leading up to the massive crash.
