Kitchener City Hall will play host to cadets and legion members Sunday afternoon as our Region remembers those who gave their lives at the Battle of Vimy Ridge.
Today marks 100 years since Canada’s key victory in the First World War.
The 15-96 Army Cadets Corps and members of the Royal Canadian Legion Fred Gies Branch 50 are hosting a parade and ceremony this afternoon.
It kicks off at Victoria Park and finishes at Carl Zehr Square. It starts at 2 p.m.
There’s also a local presence at Vimy Ridge itself.
A group of students from the Waterloo Catholic District School Board is there to mark the day.
They’ve been in the country since Thursday, visiting historic sites from the First World War.
Kitchener-Conestoga M-P-P Michael Harris is in Vimy for the ceremony, too.
