The Kitchener man who was behind the killing of his wife, Nadia Gehl, won’t be getting another trial after all.
The Ontario Court of Appeal has rejected arguments by Ron Cyr’s lawyers.
Cyr and two other men, Dennis Zvolensky and Nashat Qahwash, were found guilty of first degree murder.
28-year-old Nadia Gehl was shot to death on a path near her home in the winter of 2009.
The trio’s lawyers had used a report that some jurors had drinks in their hotel room the night before deliberations began, as one of the reasons, to call for a new trial. The appeal judge disagreed.
The ruling was almost 50 pages long.
The three men are serving life sentences with no chance of parole until 2034.
