All-day two-way GO Train service between Kitchener and Toronto is one step closer to becoming a reality with a federal funding announcement of more than $750-million.
MP Raj Saini explains what the money is for.
“The project that is specific to us, the Kitchener component, includes the construction of approximately 40.2 kilometres of new track and required grading between Mount Pleasant Station and Union Station along the Kitchener GO transit corridor.”
Saini says this is just one phase in improving GO Train service, and all-day service is still a long way off.
This money is part of a larger funding project from Ottawa for multiple transit lines worth almost $2-billion.
