Crash causes $75,000 in damage to Guelph business

A crash involving a vehicle slamming into a building has caused an estimated $75,000 in damage to a Guelph-area store.

Police say it happened on Arrow Road just after 12 p.m. on Wednesday.

A 69 year-old woman crashed through the front of the building after her foot slipped off the brake onto the gas, accelerating the vehicle into the building.

The building was temporarily evacuated due the heavy damage to the structure and its electrical wiring.

City staff from the building department assessed the damage to the structure and found it to be safe.

No charges will be laid.
