Human remains found at home in Goderich

An investigation is underway after human remains were discovered at a home in Goderich.

Huron County OPP say construction crews were working on a backyard patio at a home on St. George’s Crescent on Tuesday when they discovered a partial human skull.

It’s alleged that the crews had originally excavated a portion of the backyard back in January to get the job-site ready for spring construction, and when they returned yesterday, they found the remains in the excavated soil.

Officials say they’re still in the early stages of the investigation, and members from the Crime Unit, OPP Forensic Identification Services, and a Forensic Anthropologist from the Office of the Chief Coroner remain on scene.
