A new office building will rise up in downtown Kitchener.
City council has given the green light to the sale of a piece of property on King Street West to Perimeter Urban Development.
It’s at 345 King West between Francis and Water and King and Halls Lane.
It’s currently a parking lot and Perimeter plans to build a six-storey multi-use building on the property.
The land, which was declared surplus by the city last year, sold for $2,348,500.00.
The city says it “will provide Class A office space in the core” and “fits with the city’s development vision for the property, and will contribute to the continued transformation of downtown Kitchener. When complete, it will bring a substantial number of new jobs downtown.”
