St. Patrick’s Day on Ezra

The sun is shining and Waterloo’s Ezra Street is packed with thousands of St. Patrick’s Day revellers.

Waterloo Regional Police and other officials have been pitching a message of safety and respect to Wilfrid Laurier University for the last several weeks.

They are expecting around 12,000 people to gather around the university area throughout the day today.

In past years, crowds of 5,000 have gathered on Ezra.

Despite the high number of students, there have been few major incidents over the years. In 2016, there were no major issues.
