Tentative deal between union and University of Guelph, strike avoided

After long talks, a tentative deal is in place between CUPE 1334 and the University of Guelph.

This means a strike by 240 maintenance and custodial workers will be avoided.

Talks have been going on since November, and if a deal wasn’t made, a strike could have started as soon as tomorrow.

This tentative deal still needs to be ratified, but a joint statement was released saying talks were “open, respectful, and constructive.”
