Back to cold as Arctic air returns

Strap yourself in – we are about to go on another weather rollercoaster ride.

The annual battle between winter and spring is well underway.

Yesterday, the high almost reached 12 degrees, and while not a record, it was still well above the average high for this time of year, which is plus two.

We are now on the descent, however and by tonight we are looking at a low of minus 6 with high temperatures through the weekend well below normal.

Overnight Friday and into Saturday, the temperature could dip to minus 18.

On the bright side, there’ll be more daylight in the evening starting next week, with Daylight Saving Time returning early Sunday and the official arrival of spring is now less than two weeks away.

Winter gives way to spring on March 20th.
