Expect to see some film crews set up in the Hespeler area of Cambridge on Tuesday.
Cambridge Mayor Doug Craig says it’s for a science fiction filming project.
“Crews will start filming in Hespeler on Tuesday. I believe it’s going to be a science fiction filming project for the series ‘Dark Matter 3’. They’ll be shutting off the parking on Guelph Avenue, but businesses will be open. People will be allowed to go into the area and shop, and carry on business as usual.”
Craig adds that this isn’t the first time film crews have been set up in his City.
“This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this, Bitten is another film that was shot there. It seems to be a popular area for various film crews. It’s also good for the local ecnomony as there’s usually about 40-50 crew members on productions like these. ”
Craig adds that filming is expected to take place throughout most of the day on Tuesday, and will possibly continue into Wednesday.
“Mainly what they’re doing is shooting pedestrian scenes with their actors. Don’t expect any car chases or anything like that, but it’ll still be an interesting production to see. ”
No road closures are in place but the City warns that there may be brief periods of traffic stoppage during filming in the vicinity of Queen and Tannery Streets, which will be enforced by Regional Police.
Businesses will be open in the Hespeler core during filming, but on-street parking will be prohibited on Queen Street between Guelph Avenue and Cooper Street, and on Tannery Street between Adam and Queen.
