Potholes not a major concern with warmer weather

This spring-like weather has one spring-like problem on many of our minds; potholes!

However, if you do have a bumpy ride home, the Region’s Manager of Transportation Operation says the mild weather isn’t to blame.

Emil Marion tells us the real issue is when temperatures hover around the freezing mark.

“It freezes and thaws and freezes and thaws, that’s when we see more and more [potholes], but lately it has been staying above freezing and there’s definitely some out there but it’s pretty similar to other years.”

Next week, 570 News Weather Specialist John Wilson expects daytime highs of 3°C or 4°C, something that could create more pothole problems.
