Pair of former Rangers named to Canada’s Spengler Cup team

A pair of former Kitchener Rangers will represent Canada at the Spengler Cup in Switzerland this month.

Gregory Campbell and Nick Spaling were both named to the 23 man roster on Tuesday.

Campbell was just released by the NHL’s Columbus Bluejackets this week, Spaling has been playing overseas with Genève-Servette of the NLA.

Canada opens play versus HC Dinamo Minsk on Boxing Day.

The Canucks have captured the Spengler Cup 13 times (1984, 1986, 1987, 1992, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2012 and 2015).
