Already many of us have taken advantage of some Black Friday deals this week but today is the day we will hear about crazy shoppers, busy malls, and outrageous deals.
However, you don’t have to go south of the border to shop or head online to take advantage of those deals.
The Cambridge Chamber of Commerce is asking us to shop local this year.
President and CEO Greg Durocher says shopping local supports everyone in the community.
“They’re employing our friends, our neighbours, and our families, our kids have part-time jobs at them.”
He adds when shopping online, we can run into some pretty pricey exchange rates.
“There is no question about it, shopping local is somewhere where you get 100 cents on the dollar worth of value and I think that our small businesses and our community retailers absolutely need the help this year, just as much as anybody else.”
So where to go? Durocher says one look at our Twitter, Facebook or Instagram accounts will lead us to plenty of local shopping options.
