Firearms still missing after string of break and enters targeting elderly

Regional police are looking for five firearms after a string of break and enters targeting local elderly people.
Between September 2nd and October 3rd the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Break, Enter and Auto Theft Team (BEAT) investigated 30 break and enters at homes in Kitchener.
On October 4th, a 30-year-old Kitchener man was arrested in connection to the break-ins. He faces several break and enter and theft charges.
Police say most homes were owned by elderly people, and were entered after a window was smashed, or door or window pried open.
Stolen items include jewelry, electronics, cash, handguns and rifles. Police say the suspect also ate food and drinks during the break-ins.
Some of the stolen items have been returned, however police are still searching for five firearms taken from two separate homes.
