September was a warm one

For the second year in a row, the month of September in Waterloo Region goes down in the books as one of the hottest ones on record.
The University of Waterloo Weather Station says the overall temperature was about 3.3 degrees above average – the 5th warmest in 100 years of local record keeping.
September of 2015 was 4 degrees above average.
The warmest day last month was just a shade under 33 degrees while the average daily high was around around 24.
It was also exceptionally dry.
In a normal September, we would receive close to 88 millimetres of rain, but last month we only got 28 – less than a third of the monthly average.
