More key LRT closures ending Friday

More relief on the roadways in Waterloo Region on Friday.

Charles from Victoria to Benton in Kitchener will open to to two-way traffic and King at Allen will also open, easing the congestion near Uptown Waterloo.

Following 18 months of LRT work, Hwy 85 at Northfield, the north and southbound off-ramps as well as the southbound on-ramp was expected to open but in an email to 570 News, Lauren McGirr from GrandLinq says weather conditions have delayed the re-opening of the off-ramps. They are expected to re-open next week barring any further weather conditions or construction constraints.

GrandLinq says that as areas re-open, some short-term rolling lane closures will be needed to complete final work in the area.

On Wednesday, Victoria in Kitchener reopening between Joseph and Weber following months of ION work.
