Laurier wins fourth straight game on Homecoming weekend

It was a career day for two Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks on Homecoming weekend.

The Laurier Golden Hawks beat the Waterloo Warriors 68-7 Saturday afternoon at University Stadium.

Running back Eric Guiltinan ran his way into the Laurier record books scoring four touchdowns on 176 rushing yards. He is now tied for third on Laurier’s single-game list.

In a release, Head Coach of the Golden Hawks, Michael Faulds says his team played a well rounded game in the first half.

“Obviously we played really well, and clean football, in the first half,” said head coach Michael Faulds after the Hawks’ fourth straight win to open the year. “In the second half, it’s kind of common nature, you take your foot off the pedal a little bit, you’re getting some of the younger guys in to the game, but I’m proud of our team effort.”

Kwaku Boateng recorded a sack in Saturday’s game putting him at the top of Laurier’s all-time list. He now has 18 sacks in a Golden Hawks uniform.

The Golden Hawks next game is Saturday, October 1st in London against the Western Mustangs. It’s a clash between to powerhouse OUA teams both with four wins on the year. Kickoff at TD Stadium is set for 1 p.m.
