Fall forecast calling for above normal temps

The Weather Network is out with its fall forecast.

It’s calling for temperatures in southern Ontario to be generally above normal for the next few months.

Chief Meteorologist Chris Scott says that does not mean we won’t see some cool shots at times, but overall, weather models suggest temperatures should be above average.

There is also the potential for severe weather in the coming months, thanks to a weak El Nino.

Scott does warn however, that beyond the fall, much of Canada could be in for a classic winter.

He says the preliminary map is very different from last year, which was milder and drier.

Fall officially arrives a week from Thursday morning.
