It seems like people in Kitchener really love their pets.
Amazon.ca is out with a poll listing the top 20 most pampered pet cities in Canada and Kitchener is number 5.
Regina takes top honours for the second year in a row… and Toronto landed at the bottom.
Derek Montalbetti from Ren’s Pets Depot says he is not shocked by where Kitchener ended up on the list.. and adds many of his customers admit to treating their pets better than their family.
They come in and confess that they’ve actually been spending more money on their new dogs that they ever did on any of their kids.”
Other cities on the list include London at number 7, Mississauga at 15, and Hamilton at 18.
The list was compiled by comparing per capita sales for pet items purchased from Amazon.ca from August 2015 to August 2016 in cities with more than 100 thousand residents.
