Cambridge residents can weigh in again today on plans for a big and controversial multiplex..
The $78-million facility has been making headlines for months. At issue, where to put it?
Original plans to locate it on Conestoga College land at Fountain by the 401 caused protests and brought out big crowds to council. Many are concerned that site is just too close to Kitchener, others says it not “Cambridge Central” enough.
A site evaluation assessment task force is holding another open house Thursday.
It runs from 3 until 4:30pm in the Bowman Room at city hall, then again from 5:30 until 8pm.
In September, residents were able complete a survey online and some 1,700 were completed.
Meantime, Cambridge Mayor Doug Craig tells 570 News, this issue is so heated, he had to hire some plainclothes police officers for some recent meetings on the issue.
Those officers will be there for Thursday’s meetings.
