Man wanted in double shooting in Toronto

Toronto police are searching for a man wanted for attempted murder in connection with a double shooting near Yonge-Dundas Square over the weekend.

Police were called to the scene just before 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Police say two men got into an argument near the southeast corner of Yonge Street and Dundas Street East. One of them pulled out a gun and shot the other man, a 21-year-old, four times. He was taken to hospital.

One of the bullets also hit a 24-year-old man who was standing in the square at the time. He walked himself to hospital.

Both of the shooting victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

On Wednesday, police identified the suspect as Alfredo Blass, 22, of Toronto.

He is five-feet nine-inches tall and 160 pounds with a medium complexion and a tattoo of ‘Yoanis’ on his left upper arm.

Blass is wanted on nine charges, including two counts of attempted murder and two counts of aggravated assault.

Police say the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous and warn the public not to approach him but call 911.
