Crime rate rises in the region this year

The crime rate in our Region has gone up.
The rate jumped six per cent in 2015, which included the crime severity index increasing seven per cent, and auto theft up 30 per cent.
It’s also the case across the country as Statistics Canada says the number of crimes reported to police went up for the first time in 12 years.
