Heat warning in effect for Waterloo Region

Expect a hot and humid week throughout Waterloo Region and surrounding areas.

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning, saying we could see temperatures of 30 to 33 degrees, with humidex values near 40.

The national weather agency says the heat is due to a hot and humid airmass from the Gulf of Mexico, which will affect most of southern Ontario throughout the week.

Some relief is in sight, as a cooler system is expected to move in by Thursday night.
