Organizer Ronald Hoppe tells us about this year’s event.
“You can expect a lot of new stuff this year– we’re gonna have a fantastic Lego party that will be assisted by the KPL and Lego cake! On top of that, we’ll have tons of contests, panels and guests!”
Hoppe says they’ll also have a costume contest for all those cosplayers in the region– and some celebrity guests.
“Last year they had a mini-Goosebumps reunion– and this year, it’s a mini-YTV reunion! We’ll have Bradie Whetham from Goosebumps, Scott Yaphe the host of Uh-Oh, and once again– Pj Phil is coming to town! So we’re very excited to have those guests plus all of our others.”
Hoppe says attendance may be bigger this year, as 2016 has been a big one for superheroes on the big screen.
“Our first year was last year, and we had a 3.5K attendance which is amazing for a one-day Comic Con event. We’re expecting about the same for this year, but if we get more– that’s even better. Everyone is loving what they’re seeing on the big screen with all these superhero movies, and we are expecting that to have a direct effect on our event this year.”
The event happens at Kitchener City Hall from 11 am until 8 pm.
“We encourage people to use #KCC2016 on Twitter to follow our shenanigans throughout the day.”
