Via Rail beefing up security due to unsubstantiated threat: report

Via Rail is reportedly beefing up security at some of its stations due to an unsubstantiated threat.

The CBC reports that starting on Wednesday, the RCMP and sniffer dogs will be in place at Union Station. There will also be an elevated police presence.

A Via spokesperson told the CBC the threat appears to be a hoax, but the corporation must be careful.
