Two Valentine’s Day robberies in Kitchener

No one was hurt after two separate Valentines Day robberies in Kitchener.
Early yesterday around 3:30 a.m. a passenger in a taxi demanded money from the driver while threatening him with an axe.
The two got into an altercation and the taxi driver was able to disarm the suspect.
A 19 year old Kitchener man has been arrested and charged with robbery, 3 counts of breach probation, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Then, later yesterday afternoon around 1 p.m. the Stirling Avenue Short Stop was robbed by a man with a handgun.
Police are looking for a white man, around 5’7″ – 5’8″, wearing a blue hooded jacket with a pale blue trim, dark blue pants, a grey scarf and black toque.
