Part of the cover to the heated dome on King near Victoria in Kitchener has been put in place this week.
The second phase to complete the cover of the dome is expected to be completed by the end of the week.
The dome will provide a climate-controlled environment allowing work to be completed on the King Street Grade Separation regardless of the weather.
Avril Fiskin with GrandLinq says the heated dome will also ensure concrete on the new rail bridge is cured properly.
“There is a lot of concrete that needs to cure. We need to have good temperatures to work through the winter months and into the spring and the dome provides us with that temperature.”
Fiskin adds once the cover is put on, the $2 million dollar dome will be in place along King between Moore and Victoria for the next few months to complete the bridge.
