Rangers host Windsor on ‘Don Cameron Potato Night’

Another busy three in three weekend is ahead for the Kitchener Rangers.
The Rangers host Windsor Friday, which is also Don Cameron Potato Night. 570 News has the pre-game show at 7pm.
Fans are asked to bring potatoes to the game to support the House of Friendship, with the goal of collecting 300,000 pounds by the end of the Potato Blitz.
This year marks the 21st annual Potato Blitz, and the 19th year the Rangers have been involved.
“Being from Prince Edward Island, the potato is king down there. The thing is, it’s such an important part of our diet, and it’s such an important part of our community,” Cameron tells 570 News.
“It’s vitally important, and I think it’s vitally important for all of us, no matter what business we’re in, if we can help in the community, we must do so.”
“It means supper, it means lunches, it means leftovers, it means food you can count on […] When we reach our goal of 300,000 pounds, we can guarantee a bag of potatoes in every food hamper we give out.” adds Dawn Gill, development officer at the House of Friendship.
The Rangers also play in Saginaw on Saturday night and visit Sault Ste. Marie on Sunday afternoon.
