Saginaw Medical Centre now open in Cambridge

Saginaw Medical Centre opened their doors today in Cambridge.
It is now the third walk-in clinic operating in the city.
The clinic is offering services for families such as treatment on all non-life threatening illnesses, injuries and will offer on-site blood testing.
It is located at 525 Saginaw Parkway.
Anjou Mehta who is a consultant for Saginaw Medical Centre says it was difficult to find physicians.
“Initially it was difficult, but when we started talking to the doctors that we are in an area that is a needy area and if you can help us. When we explained to them about our facilities and electronic medical records, they were really happy and four physicians came on board with us after that.”
Mehta adds there was a lot of interest from the community about a new walk-in clinic being opened in Cambridge.
“Before we opened the clinic, people started saying they will go right away because when they are going to their family practices, they have to wait more than two and a half hours so they are really looking forward to coming to see doctors in a walk-in clinic. The last three months, we almost had more than 500 people asking for the walk-in clinic.”
The Medical Centre includes the walk-in clinic and family health centre, a pharmacy, Cambridge Drugs, Romin Optical and Infinite Dental.
