Pet first aid coming to Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society

Have you ever wondered what you might do if your pet was sick or in distress?

The Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society is hoping to calm our fears by offering their first ever pet first aid course.

Instructor Kathleen McCaughey says most of us have no idea what to do if something happened to our four-legged friend.

“At least one person in the family should know what to do if there was an emergency. It just makes sense that someone knows what to do if something were to happen. We know what to do if something were to happen to our brothers, or sisters, or moms, or dads, so why wouldn’t we know what to do if something were to happen to our animals?”

Those who complete the course will get a certificate from Walks n’ Wags Pet First Aid, that is valid for 3 years.

The 10-hour course will also teach pet owners about shock, vital signs, poisoning, bleeding and other wounds.
