The Kitchener-Waterloo Kidney Walk is once again taking place in Waterloo to raise funds for those in our community.
Today’s walk is taking place at Bechtel Park and is part of Canada’s largest community event dedicated to helping those living with kidney disease.
Ryan Drake suffers from kidney disease and is currently on a waiting list for a transplant. He is also this year’s walk Honorary Chair and says the event helps raise awareness.
“It’s a great cause and is close to my heart. It effects a lot of Canadians and it something a lot of people may not be aware off, but I think should be”
The walk takes place from 9 am until noon. Those taking part are asked to bring gently used clothing items to donate to the Kidney Clothes program.
