Heat warning in effect for Waterloo Region

Environment Canada has issued a Heat Warning for most of southern and southwestern Ontario, including the Waterloo Region.

Daytime high temperatures will be in the low 30’s, with humidex values near or above 40.

The very warm and humid conditions will persist into Tuesday.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.

Environment Canada says drink plenty of liquids especially water before you feel thirsty to decrease your risk of dehydration.
