Rangers score another profit

Another solid year at the gate for the Kitchener Rangers.
The club has announced it turned a profit last season, for the 20th year in a row.
At the team’s annual general meeting, the Rangers announced they brought in over $6.3-million and after expenses, recorded a profit of over $96,000.
Rangers’ Chief Operating Office Steve Bienkowski tells the Record, “It’s challenging. “It gets tougher every year. Our revenues have pretty much peaked but our cost side continues to climb.”
Some of those costs include paying down the debt from the 2012 renovations at the Aud as well as paying off the cost of a new scoreboard.
The club also donated more than $380,000 to local charities.
As for the upcoming OHL season, the Rangers open training camp tomorrow at the Aud.
