Wynne working on high-occupancy toll lanes plan: report

It’s not yet known which highway lanes in the Greater Toronto Area would be affected, but reports say that Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne is working on a proposal to bring high-occupancy toll lanes to Toronto highways.

A report by the Toronto Sun says Wynne has a plan in the works, but is not ready to roll it out yet.

No details or hints were given about where any of the lanes would be located around the GTA, but the premier said that money generated from the tolls would help fund the Liberals’ 10-year transit and infrastructure plan.

The HOV lanes, which were set up in the area for the Pan Am Games, caused severe driver frustration for much of the summer.
