Kitchener Hallman Twins fold

It’s the end of the line for the Kitchener Hallman Twins fastball team.

One of the continent’s top men’s fastball teams has folded, amid increased competition from other entertain sources and rising costs.

Longtime Twins’ sponsor Jim Hallman tells the Record, “We had a great run with the Twins and a lot of fun doing it. But I think it’s time to move on.”

The Twins were at times on the top of the fastball mountain, winning back-to-back International Softball Congress world championships less than ten years ago.

About 30 years ago, the average cost to run an elite fastball team was around $4,000.

Today, it’s more in the range of $150,000.
