Scientists say severe weather could continue across Ontario

As the clean-up continues in Teviotdale and across Southern Ontario following this weekend’s severe storms, scientists are warning that there could be more wild weather on the way.

Environment Canada now says there was a third tornado that touched down in the province last weekend, as a series of violent storms swept southern Ontario.

The weather agency says an E-F-2 tornado was confirmed in the community of Lebanon, southeast of Listowel, with winds of up to 220 kilometres per hour.

It says the tornado had a damage path that was about five kilometres long and 50 kilometres wide.

The damage included a grain silo which had its top removed, a barn roof which flew off, and a sailboat tossed into some trees.
